Elevating United Way’s Mission Through Digital Advertising
United Way of Greater Nashville is a cornerstone of social good across Middle Tennessee, uniting people and resources to tackle the region’s most pressing challenges in education, financial stability, and health. With a passionate commitment to helping individuals and families thrive, the organization’s mission is to build a stronger community by fostering opportunity and resilience at every level.
Challenges
Yet even with its storied history and unwavering mission, United Way of Greater Nashville faced significant digital challenges. Younger audiences, a vital demographic for long-term growth and engagement, remained largely unaware of the organization’s full impact. The breadth of United Way’s services, which spanned donation drives, volunteer opportunities, and direct assistance, posed difficulties in connecting specific online actions with measurable outcomes. Additionally, the organization’s leadership recognized the need to enhance their digital campaigns, particularly in tracking and growing conversions tied to donations, event sign-ups, and community involvement.
Strategy and Approach
When we stepped in, we began by restructuring United Way’s Google Ads account to mirror their multifaceted mission. Each campaign was organized around focused, high-impact keywords, ensuring every dollar of the $10,000 monthly grant was invested where it would make the greatest difference. Our creative team crafted concise, compelling ad copy designed to inspire action. Each message encouraged Middle Tennesseans to support, contribute, or seek assistance, bringing United Way’s stories of community change to life.
Continuous optimization was central to our approach. By closely monitoring campaign results, conducting regular A/B testing, and making real-time adjustments to bids and targeting, we ensured the campaigns remained agile and effective in a rapidly changing digital landscape. All the while maintaining strict compliance with Google’s policies, preserving the sustainability of the account.
Results (September 2025 to August 2026)
The results over a year spoke volumes. Between September 1, 2025 to August 31, 2026, United Way’s Google Grant campaigns garnered more than 82,923 impressions and drove over 12,689 clicks—a robust click-through rate of 15.30%. Most importantly, these were not idle interactions: the campaigns achieved 4,761 measurable conversions, with a high conversion rate of 37.56%. Volunteer sign-ups surged, as nearly 1104 people clicked through to engage. The call for support was answered, with hundreds of individuals seeking assistance or exploring further resources on United Way’s website.
Through a blend of strategy, creativity, and accountability, we were able to empower United Way of Greater Nashville to raise its digital profile, convert online engagement into real-world action, and maximize the long-term value of the Google Ad Grant program.
